Okay my sweets loving mamas, do I have some goodness to share.

I stumbled upon Paleo Bakehouse as an Instagram ad (thank you!). I was instantly drawn by the words “gluten free”. Yay, a gluten free monthly subscription of treats, um where do I sign up?

Having celiacs disease has been a life changing journey and one with many struggles. I was diagnosed when I was newly 21, prime age to kick back a brewski, well, not for this girl. I lived all my life eating everything sweet! Cinnamon rolls, Toaster Strudels, donuts, Nutter Butters, you name it, I ate it! I have a major sweet tooth, let’s just say that! When I was diagnosed I was so confused and pretty upset. I couldn’t come to terms that I couldn’t have any more brownie sundaes, pumpkin pie and churros. I didn’t take it seriously at first, so I kept eating gluten and paying the price for it. Finally, one day I just had enough, I needed guidance. So I sought out a naturopathic doctor and she changed my life. I finally understood. I started to read labels, incorporated more fruit, vegetables and plant-based proteins (at the time I was vegetarian) into my diet. I finally felt normal again. I felt great!

So, fast-forward 5 years later and I am still feeling pretty dang good! Gluten is my arch nemesis and dairy is a close second. I still would eat dairy occasionally because lets just face it, i’m Italian and pizza is a huge part of my diet (it’s my love language). I only recently went cold turkey when my son was suffering silent reflux. I gave up diary and his reflux, along with other holistic remedies, went away!
